Lunar Celebrations
Our moon has no light of its own; it reflects light of the sun. In truth, the moon is considered to be a dormant planet but with the knowledge that everything is for a reason, we can believe the moon is doing exactly what it supposed to do, reflect the light of the sun. During the full moon we become open to the pouring in of universal energies, normally unable to reach humanity with such concentration. As the sun repositions itself through the zodiac, different energies are available to us through the sun in a twelve month period. The various positions the sun takes monthly and the constellations that connect with it at the full moon periods imbue our planet with energies designed to aid in the progression of consciousness, strength, and the abilities of mankind. Groups who consciously take action to work in ritual, ceremony and meditation during actual full moon periods are able to access these energies. The strongest point of the full moon, considered to be the “point of contact” of these energies is at the moment the full moon at its fullest, but the energies of the full moon are accessible two days before and two days after. These periods are carefully marked on astrological calendars. The 28 day cycle (the lunation cycle) when concentrated upon with awareness as to its true esoteric meanings and essences throughout the year create a platform for progressed development.
It was Dion Fortune, who said, “if you work closely with these cycles of new moon to full moon, keeping a journal of your experiences, you will have yield a body of knowledge fulfilling the ancient dictum of Delphi, "Know Thyself".
Join us as we work as a group to connect consciously at the full moon times. If there is inclement weather, we will contact you in advance.
Ceremonial garb is appropriate. Equally appropriate is a white shirt, white skirt/pants or a long white long dress. Loaner robes are available when requested in advance.
RSVP is important so we may plan spaces, ingredients and snacks for everyone.
